I am, hands down, a visual person. I eat with my eyes, I take photos with my eyes (obviously haha), I shop with my eyes. Everything I do is inspired or done by creativity. That said, when I found out that Eiswelt sells cute-shaped gelato, I was all game. I mean, look at them! There are several flavors and you have the option of a pig, a teddy bear, or a rose. Is the gelato amazing? Not amazing as my salted caramel macarons from Ladurée but it sure has a cute factor and so Instagram-worthy. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Zara dress and MUR Lifestyle circle bag
It’s been awhile since I’ve last one to Los Angeles and boy do I miss it. But I do love Hawaii so there’s that. Maybe I miss LA just a little bit more than I’m used to since I pretty much haven’t done much since I’ve been home. I have plans to hike and swim but I just get way too drained to do anything. Maybe I’m just getting another round of burn out. I’m probably going to need to take a breather before my next round of traveling. Plus, anticipation on Charles’ end has been killing us since June. Nothing serious, in fact, it’s good news (sort of). Also with the combination of Charles starting his business, it’s been a busy, stressful, and tiresome kind of summer. It will be worth it though!
But good news is, retail therapy has been great! Pictured is a Zara dress that was originally priced at $100 but I found it for $29.99. Amazing right? It’s perfect for the summer months here in Hawaii which has been unbearable at times. I don’t know what it is (maybe global warming?) but it just keeps getting hotter each and every summer. Or maybe it’s the lack of AC in our apartment. Whatever it is, I’ve learned to love certain fabrics when it comes to clothes and this dress is perfect because of it. Which reminds me, I need to do some serious laundry soon! Happy Thursday!

Circle Market Bag
If you’re a regular follower on my Instagram, you would have noticed my constant use of this circle market bag. I have been searching for a circle bag for years. When I found this bag on Etsy, I bought it immediately and sent it to my mother’s house in California. The item came in a timely manner despite it being shipped internationally (from the UK). I must say that the leather handles have an odd smell but it hasn’t been as prominent as it has been when I first received it. I heard baking soda might work to get rid of the smell? Anyway, I loved the circle bag so much, I bought a second one with a top handle versus the leather straps. I ordered it from a different website but the seller of this bag also has one. I’ve gotten so many compliments lately!
I wore this outfit when Charles and I went to Smorgasburg in downtown Los Angeles. It was our first time and reminded us of Eat the Street and Honolulu Night Market in Hawaii. I came for one thing only and it was the acai bowl from Amazebowls (I’ll post later). Definitely worth it. Back to the outfit, I saw this dress online but looked passed it as it wasn’t styled as I would have worn it but when I tried it at the store, it was actually pretty cute on! It has a vintage silhouette which I gravitate towards to a lot. It is a bit too long so it was kind of annoying to walk in. Maxi dresses aren’t usually too long for me so I don’t really bother with hemming it. I might keep it long though but we’ll see!
From that one time we drove down and around and up and back down again; ALL IN ONE DAY. Living in Hawaii is amazing for it’s clear ocean and swaying palm trees but there’s something about being on the road for long periods of time that can’t be done on an island. With that said, I was excited to embarked on such a journey when I was in California. Definitely a change in scenery which I appreciate. Already looking forward to an upcoming road trip that we are going to embark on this summer!
The Flower Fields
I try to make a trip to The Flower Fields each year (whenever I’m in town the same time they’re in season). They’re as beautiful as I remember them. I’m looking forward to visiting other flower fields in the future though. I’ve been seeing tulip fields everywhere lately!
We drove all the way down south and along the Mexico border. We were so close to the border, my iPhone thought we were in Mexico and sent me the international rates! I’m sure that’s Mexico in the last photo (that mountain in the background). Correct me if I’m wrong though!
Oh Salvation Mountain, where to start? It’s in the middle of the nowhere, beautiful colors, and quirky. It’s so desolate, silent, and eerie all at the same time. I enjoyed admiring the beautiful pastel colors throughout the mountain.
Just passing through Coachella but not THE Coachella that happened over the weekend.
Happy Wednesday everyone! See you all on Friday!

The Broad, the hippest art museum in Los Angeles, was as fun as I imagined it to be. After seeing it on my Instagram feed (especially the Infinity Mirrored Room – The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away by Yayoi Kusama), I have planned months in advanced and booked tickets to The Broad since I was in town for a wedding. I highly recommend booking tickets in advance to avoid the stand by line. The day we went, people were waiting in the rain for two hours! And if you want any chance at being inside the Infinity Room, make sure you are at The Broad early in the morning to sign up. Unfortunately for us, Charles and I didn’t get a chance to go in but we’re making sure we do the next time we’re in town!
Complete with Jeff Koons Balloon Dog, the works of Takashi Murakami, Robert Therrien, and Glenn Ligon, Charles and I had so much fun going through the museum. Photography is allowed (just don’t use flash as always). There were tons of people there but nonetheless, we enjoyed The Broad so much!
